Top Ten Tuesday #4 - My Most Recent 5 Star Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish

So as any of you who have read my recent post I spent a few weeks of March reading quite a few 'meh' books so these are my 5 star reads of 2016 so far (in the order that I read them):

The Elsker Saga by S.T. Bende
(Didn't give this book 5 stars the first time I read it but I re-read it this year and it was just amazing and it really stuck with me after I read it.)

Sorry there is only 9 books in this weeks list, I need to read more amazing books and am always open to recommendations.

  1. So happy you enjoyed Snow Like Ashes. It's a good one :) Vengeance Road is on my TBR and I love that cover.

    1. Snow Like Ashes was one of the first book I read this year, it was such a great way to start my reading year. Vengeance Road has sparked a interest in westerns for me -not a genre I have ever looked at before- but finding ones with a female lead is a challenge!

  2. I have been meaning to read Snow Like Ashes for sooo long. I really need to get to it soon especially as I already have the book so have no excuse! I loved An Ember in the Ashes too and I'm so happy to find someone else who loved The Queen of the Tearling! That is one of my favourite series, it's so amazing! <3

  4. This is the first time I've heard of someone giving Rebel Sands 5 stars, most of the reviews I've read/watched for that book have been a little lack luster. I am glad you enjoyed it because I still want to read it and I like knowing that someone enjoyed it that much.

    1. Oh! I have only really seen good things about this book (5 stars reviews / 4.5 stars reviews / 4 stars reviews but nothing really under that) I really hope you still read it and enjoy it too.

  5. That looks like a brilliant list! I really need to read An Ember in the Ashes so badly! I'm happy you enjoyed Rebel of the Sands too!
I still haven't started reading Victoria Aveyard so I might have a look at your thoughts on Glass Sword to help me decide if I should do it now ;)

  6. I absolutely loved Queen Of The Tearling! I was too sure about Snow Like Ashes, it just felt like it was trying to tick every cliche in the YA fantasy handbook and didn't quite get any one fully right. I really want to read Rebel Of The Sands and An Ember In The Ashes.

    1. I was a bit worried that the Queen of the Tearling wasn't going to live up to my expectations, thankfully it was an amazing book and I wasn't disappointed.
